WRESTLING &
CHEERLEADING SEASON --
2007-2008

The ISVI wrestling team had
a very successful meet on November 30 and December 1 at Indiana. There were five
other teams present from Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee and
Wisconsin. Team Illinois took home 11 wins and 6 losses! It was a great
meet and an outstanding performance by the Warriors.

Wisconsin and Quincy Notre Dame successfully
navigated the weather on December 7 and 8 to participate in the 19th
Annual Illini Duals held on the ISVI campus.
The results were as follows for the Warriors:
9 Wins and 17 Losses. |
Team Illinois traveled to the Gateway City (St. Louis, Missouri) on
December 14 where they wrestled in 19 matches winning 13--lucky number
and losing 6. There were five schools participating including Team
Illinois. The other teams were: Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota and
Missouri. Next on the list is the NCASB Championships held at Wisconsin
on January 24-26, 2008. Good luck Warriors! |

GOALBALL SEASON
2007-2008
Greetings, Sports fans! Goalball
is up and running! Our first meet of the season took place in Ohio
on February 8-10. As usual no one had a greater time than Team
Illinois. Both the boys' team and girls' team saw plenty of
goalball action as over thirty games were contested.

Team Illinois Girls defeated: MO/KY: 6-5, Tennessee B: 9-5, Tennessee A:
10-8, lost to Ohio:9-7, Wisconsin 5-3, Indiana: 9-7

packed gym on Wednesday, Feb. 13 as teams from Missouri, Wisconsin,
SASED, and ISVI met for evening of intense competition. Thanks to

SWIMMING & FORENSICS SEASON -- 2007-2008 |

FIRST MEET OF THE SEASON
The swim team and the forensics team traveled to Indiana on March 14th
and 15th. ISVI competed against Indiana, Kansas and Missouri.
Both of ISVI's swim teams--male and female, earned a 4th-place finish
overall.ISVI Results
Boys:
3rd in the 200 yd. freestyle
4th in the 100 yd. backstroke
Boys 200 yd. freestyle relay team placed 3rd
Female:
2nd, 5th and 6th in the 100 yd. backstroke
6th in the 50 yd. freestyle
400 yd. Co-ed Relay: 2nd place
The forensic team also competed and had a good showing in their
first meet of the season, speaking about everything
from humor to poetry to serious topics to impromptu. Congratulations to
the forensics team and the swim team for a great start to the season! |

One individual on Team Illinois Girl's earned 20 points by earning a 2nd
place in the 200-free, 2nd in the 100-free, 1st in the 100-backstroke,
and 1st place in the 320 Co-ed Relay.
Another Illinois on Team Illinois Girl's team earned 11 points with a
3rd place in the 40-free, 4th in the 100-backstroke, and a 1st place in
the 320 Co-ed Relay.
And finally another Girl's team member earned 7 points with a 2nd place
in the 40-free and a 3rd place in the 100-backstroke

A member of Team Illinois Boys' team earned 19 point with a 1st place in
the 200-free, 2nd in the 100-free, 3rd in the 100-backstroke, and a 1st
place in the 320 Co-ed Relay
Another team member earned 15 points with a 4th in the 40-free, 5th in
the 100-free, 1st in the 100-backstroke, and a 1st place in the 320
Co-ed Relay
Yet another team member earned 14 point with a 2nd in the 200-free, 3rd
in the 40-free, 3rd in the 100-free, and 2nd in the 160-free relay.
One team member earned 6 points with an 8th place finish in the 40-free,
4th in the 100-backstroke, and a 2nd in the 160-free relay.
Another member earned 4 points with a 10th place finish in the 40-free
and a 2nd in the 160-free relay.
Another member earned 4 points with a 7th place finish in the 40-free,
9th in the 100-free, and a 2nd in the 160-free relay.
And finally one team member earned 1 point with a 5th place finish in
the 40-free and a 6th place finish in the 100-free. |

NCASB CONFERENCE
Team Illinois won the hearts of the
conference this weekend for their
exemplary hosting of the forensic and swim championships. There
was not
one department on campus who did not have a positive impact on the
conference experience. On behalf of the NCASB, coaches, and
participants we wish to extend a huge thank you to everyone on staff for
your team effort.
