Sports News from Coach Raabe -- Swim and Forensics Meet April 14, 2011 at ISVI

Thank you ISVI students and staff for allowing us to host a home swim and forensics meet and for the many volunteers to make the meet successful. Many family members were also on campus to watch and were very appreciative of ISVI's efforts.
Team Wisconsin loved the meet, loved dinner (wanted to steal our cooks), and was thankful to leave at a decent time.

Forensics results: ISVI had the best judges of any forensic competition that we've had all season. However, I heard from many judges that they had a hunger for Chocolate Cake for Breakfast. In checking my yet to be affordable and practical digital braille watch it was learned that it takes time to produce ART and that TAPESTRIES are works in progress.

Swim Results:
Team ILLINOIS Girls 36 Team Wisconsin Girls 0
Team Illinois Boys 95 Team Wisconsin Boys 25

Individual results:
ISVI swimmers had 23 personal best times out of 28 opportunities. An outstanding performance.
Our next competition will be the NCASB Forensics and Swim Conference Championships on April 29-30, 2011 in Columbus, OH.

From Coach Mullis --

The forensics team was outspoken in Wisconsin this last weekend representing Illinois with pride. The following are some of the comments the judges gave team Illinois:

- Great body language, good expression of actions and feelings.
- Pacing and tone very well done to show emotion.
- Confident, seemed to have strong feelings for her piece.
- Speech was well thought out and presented.
- Good voice tone and expression. You really got into character.
- Great emotion and enthusiasm.
- Good body language and eye contact, very smooth. Good use of voice changes for characters.
- Good voice changes and expression. Good facial expressions. Good posture.
- (8 minute) Poised presentation, good posture, good inflection, nice volume.
(impromptu) Stuck to topic, very proud, great enthusiasm.

Everyone did an outstanding job. The team had two rounds of performance, which will help them to prepare for conference in Ohio. Team Illinois Forensics competes next in Tennessee. We appreciate your support. More news to come.
