On Line With ISVI

By Reggie Clinton - Superintendent ISVI

October 20, 2008

Our Director of Support Services, Jane Breen, sent out information Friday updating staff members on a window replacement project to be completed in our Main Building. This work is being done to correct an audit finding by the State Fire Marshall’s Office. ISVI maintenance staff have already installed temporary devices to address this finding and bring us into compliance. The window replacement work to be started soon will be a permanent fix for this problem. I wanted to share this information in this issue of On Line With ISVI in order to make other interested parties aware of the work to be done. Once the work is completed over several weeks the Main Building will have new windows that are secure, safe, more energy efficient and provide ventilation with screens to keep insects out of the classrooms. Hopefully this project will be completed by December and with minimal distractions for students and staff. The next paragraph contains the basic information Mrs. Breen sent out.

On October 24th the process of replacing windows in ISVI's Main Building will start. It is estimated that this project will take several weeks to complete. In order to install windows in a timely and efficient manner it will require everyone's cooperation. The project is slated to start in the basement then progress to the 1st then 2nd floor. Window installation will require office staff and educational classes to temporarily relocate during the time of installation. Every attempt will be made in order to give folks advance notice in terms of the daily room installation schedule.
