On Line With ISVI By Reggie Clinton - Superintendent ISVI
Yesterday we held registration for the new school year here at ISVI. It was a busy day with the students and their families getting paper work completed and moving items into the dorms. There was much excitement in the air and it was a great day weather wise. This year the boys are in Unit 18 on the west side of campus and the girls are in Unit 2 on the east side of campus. Every two years we switch dorms for the boys and girls in order for them all to get experience in the two different living environments. It was fun to watch the students as they greeted friends and were excited to be back together. From reading the dorm logs for the first night back it seems as though there were a lot of friends visiting as much as possible to catch up on what they had been doing this summer. There were even some students who had a hard time getting to sleep because they were excited to be back. It truly is neat to see the excitement of our students as they come back together for a new school year! Today we opened school with the annual raising of the flag in front of the school before the students headed off to Knights Action Park in Springfield. It will be a fun day for the students. The teaching staff were in meetings for their first teacher institute day. Tomorrow we will begin classes and the new year will be officially underway. We are looking forward to a good year! The students are ready and staff members are too. Have a great 2008-09 school year everyone!! |
