On Line With ISVI By Reggie
Clinton, Superintendent
The legislators have returned to Springfield, but at this time I have no new information to share with you regarding the future of ISVI. When recently questioned by our local Representative, Jim Watson, the Governor stated that he would not close the schools (ISVI and ISD) at this time. But, nothing has been given to me officially in writing regarding this. To update you since my last letter, we are now under a hiring freeze, which means we will not be able to fill vacant positions. When this freeze will be lifted is unknown at this time. I did see some good news regarding ISVI in our local newspaper this morning. The Governor signed the $31 billion construction bill recently. Contained in that are several projects for ISVI including: $2.1 million to renovate the auditorium and classrooms in the administrative building. $1.26 million to renovate classrooms in building 17 (the Media Center building). $2.09 million to renovate the powerhouse. $392,832 to replace roofing systems. $557,269 for the renovation of the power plant and associated equipment. I dont have further information to share on these projects as what I saw was in the local newspaper. I have not received anything official in writing regarding these projects. If I receive any further information I can share regarding the school I will do so. Thank you for your support and all you do on behalf of our students at ISVI! |
