EVERY VOTE COUNTS!!!
On October 7th the government classes conducted a school-wide Mock Election for the upcoming Presidential Election. Students have been studying the process of election and all students five years old or older were allowed to vote in the ISVI election. The votes were tallied and the winner, if ISVI were responsible for electing our next president, would be Barak Obama. The votes from ISVI are being sent to a nation-wide internet site where the votes from all schools will be tallied by the end of October.

NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT!
ISVI recently installed some new playground equipment. It was donated by the Alumni Association. The students are having a great time using the new equipment. One student was quoted as saying, “Are we lucky, or what?” In addition to this donation from the Alumni Association, the Parent’s Association has set aside money to purchase a wheel- chair swing for the school. We are fortunate to have the support of these two organizations.

A local truck owner very kindly offered to bring his truck to the parking lot for the students to have the opportunity to get inside of the truck as well as the sleeper area. The students had the opportunity to talk on the CB radio to another trucker and they enjoyed honking the horn.

PARTY FOR MS. LATZ
Mrs. Lyon’s class had a farewell party for Ms. Latz. She is an ISU student and has been a student helper in Mrs. Lyon’s classroom. The party was fun and the cupcakes were delicious!
