ISVI Happenings
March 20, 2008

Concert Choir
The ISVI Concert Choir sang beautifully at the IHSA solo/ensemble contest. The contest was held at Porta High School on Saturday, March 1st. Of the ISVI ladies who participated, three received 2nd place ratings and three received 1st place ratings. The ISVI ensemble received a 1st place rating. We are very proud of our Concert Choir. Way to go! The group finished their day of singing by an evening of eating at Dairy Queen.

A Big Thank You
The Blue Pod in Unit 2 would like to thank everybody for buying the Papa Murphy’s pizza cards. The boys have earned enough money to go to Knight’s Action Park for an end of the year party. RCW’s Dora Ehlert and Deborah Burnett assisted the Blue Pod with this fund raiser. They are really excited for their trip and proud that they did all of the work in order to go. Enjoy!

Team Illinois Goalball
Team Illinois Goalball put "fourth" their best effort in attempts to attain their season goal of placing in the conference meet held in Kentucky on March 1st. Team Illinois played four games each for the boys and girls teams. Team Illinois boys and girls each ended up placing 4th.

Girls' results:
Illinois defeats Indiana: 7-6
Illinois loses to Ohio: 7-6

Illinois loses to Indiana: 8-3

Boys' results
Illinois defeats Minnesota: 17- 7

As you can tell by the results, the tournament was tough. Both Team Illinois Girls and Boys played their best games when it counted the most. Congratulations on a great year!

Cookie Bake-Off
A Cookie Bake-Off was held in the ISVI snack bar on March 12th. Four pods participated by baking two dozen cookies of their favorite cookies for the judges to sample. The blue pod from Unit 2 won the contest with their "Peanut Butter Kisses." All students in the blue pod will participate in a pizza party as their prize for having the winning cookie. After the judging, all students enjoyed sampling each others’ cookie creations.
