ISVI K-Kids
The ISVI K-Kids, led by Stephanie Provence, had their Fourth Annual K-Kids
Canned Food Drive. They collected donations of over $216.50 in food and money to
donate to the Jacksonville Area Community Food Center. Along with the help of
Mr. Strader and Mr. Dugan they delivered the items to the Food Center. The ISVI
K-Kids Club looks forward to helping other children and families again next
year!

ISVI Celebrates 159th Birthday
On January 9th students and staff gathered in the ISVI Dining Hall to have cake
and punch to celebrate ISVI’s 159th birthday. Several students led the group in
singing "Happy Birthday to ISVI". Mr. Thompson played a meaningful song
performed by two former students of ISVI followed by a party game being played
by anyone who wished to participate. It was great fun!

Louis Braille Celebrates 200th Birthday
In honor of Louis Braille’s 200th Birthday Educator Darla Chambers and her
students paid a wonderful tribute to him on January 15, 2009. It began with a
creative performance in the auditorium. This was followed by a variety of fun
games, Braille demonstrations, and refreshments in the dining hall. Students had
a great time decorating sugar cookies with M & Ms to make them look like Braille
cells.
