Fun-Filled First Day of School!!!!!
A trip to Knight’s Action Water Park in Springfield was cancelled due to rainy weather.  Instead the students enjoyed a trip to White Oaks Mall and the Lincoln Museum.  Students divided into small groups and each group had an RCW (Residential Care Worker) with them.  After shopping, lunch was enjoyed at the Food Court.  Each student was given $8.00 to purchase the lunch of their choice.  Students and staff found the Lincoln museum to be very interesting.  They especially enjoyed the film “Through the Eyes of Lincoln” due to the sound effects and special effects such as the seats rocking when the horses were running.  Special thanks to the bus driver and to the RCW’s (Residential Care Workers) for overseeing the students on this field trip.  Thanks also to the Illinois Blind Children’s Association for funding this fun and educational outing.

Thank you CVS Pharmacy!
Last spring CVS Pharmacy became ISVI’s Business-Education Partner.  CVS Pharmacy staff sponsored an end of the school year picnic in May.  This year they are providing prizes for Braille Bingo and they will also donate a $10.00 CVS gift card to each Student of the Month.  This is greatly appreciated.  Thank you CVS Pharmacy!

Staff and students gathered in the school auditorium to open the 2009 school year.  Principal Mrs.

McGovern welcomed everyone and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
