The Blind Children’s Foundation of Illinois, was established to assist in securing and maintaining quality educational services and adaptive devices for children who attend the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI) in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Foundation receives, holds, invests, and administers property and makes expenditures for the benefit of children at ISVI. It counsels persons and organizations regarding student needs, and the advantages of contributing to the foundations.

The Illinois School for the Visually Impaired is a residential facility for children who are blind or visually impaired. ISVI’s comprehensive, specialized curriculum emphasizes education, independent and vocational skills. The school serves as a statewide resource offering students with visual impairments quality services which will enable them to become personally productive and self-sufficient citizens.

Braille, daily living skills, low vision, orientation and mobility, adaptive physical education, industrial arts, music, field trips, assistive technology instruction including adaptive computer keyboards, screen readers, screen magnification, large monitors, Braille embossers and more. These are all a part of the total ISVI instructional program.
